The Cottages at Hartland are situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty and boast being set in 80 acres of rolling farmland with a walk mapped out especially for our visitors.
The famous south west coastal path is a couple of miles away with stunning stretches of cliff walking with spectacular view of Lundy Island. In addition, there is a myriad of ancient pathways that walk up and down hidden valleys to connect the local settlements of the Hartland Peninsula. For your ease a local ordinance survey map is in each cottage to help you plan you walk.
Dog friendly walking holidays can be enjoyed by booking Cobblestone Cottage - We have produced a booklet with some dog friendly walks in and around Hartland.
Further afield are the national parks of Dartmoor and Exmoor, they can be reached in under an hour by car. These wild moor lands offer excellent rambling and picnic spots. Most walks are well marked, but the more adventurous can still find places to explore as the mood of the moor changes with the weather.
Hatswell Meadows has direct access to the Exe Valley Way, a national long distance route
