The cottages at West Tosberry are close to many of the most renowned surfing beaches in England. People flock from all over the country to come to this surf throughout the year. Bude is less than 20 minutes away by car where there is an all year round surfing community where you can get lessons and hire equipment. The best place to get equipment is Zumajay, a shop just off the high street, where they professionally fit you out with all the equipment you need in no time. They even have a web site with up to the minute surf information 365 days a year.

However, just down from Bude is Widemouth Bay, which is brilliant for both surfing and sunbathing, and is one of the most stunning beaches I have ever seen. In the other direction, Croyde and Woolacombe are both renowned surfing spots and Hatswell Meadows is less than an hour away from these. You really are spoilt for choice when it comes to surfing in North Devon.
